Holistic hoof care uses the wild hoof as it's model for soundness. The hoof has evolved over millions of years to sustain extreme use on rough terrain. Wild horses travel on average of 20 to 30 miles a day over rough ground. Their hooves are perfect. With natural trimming techniques we can mimic this wear and tear so that our domestic horses can enjoy perfectly sound shoeless hooves.
Our philosophy is to follow the guidance of the hoof. Each hoof gives us the information needed in order to provide the perfect trim.
Jessica Grimes has been providing holistic hoof care and barefoot trimming in the Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado areas since 2007. She teaches groups and individuals clinics and classes on the subject.
